Looking For Alibrandi chaper 1-3

Tiffany - I wanted to read this book because my friends love it and recommended, i also thought the blurb sounded good. After reading chapters one through to three, I believed that I would really enjoy this book. I love it when you can get involved in the book straight away and I like the main character because shes witty and made me laugh. I cant really relate to Josephine Alibrandi except fot the fact shes a teenage girl. Her life is a lot different from mine. I know both my parents and I'm Australian, so I've not been bullied or anything by those factors. I also think it's weird that she fights with her nonna, and dislikes her. I'm predicting that she'll become close to Jacob Coote somehow, whether it is good friends, good enemies or boyfriend and girlfriend. She'll either be hurt again by her father or become close to him. Jodi and Renae, why did you choose this book? What did you think of chapters one through three? Do you relate to Josephine Alibrandi, or any of the characters? And what do you think will happen? Bye for now. xx

Jodi: I am really enjoying this book so far. It really shows what teenagers act like. I can really relate to it. In the 2Nd chapter, when Josephine is introducing her friends, I found myself smiling and agreeing. Her connection with the characters are strong even though they are all very different. I think that is why i can relate. My friends and I are really different but we still get along. Also because Josephine doesn't know her father is another connection i can make. I mean, I know him kinda but not very well. my mum is a single mum and only wants what is best for me. All though i seems like Josephine's Nonna and mother are harsh, They are only doing what is best for her.
My prediction is after the argument the father will step in and then Josephine will realise how much her family means to her and her father will then realise that Josephine is his daughter and something will happen to Nonna. What do you think Renae? more later xx :)

Renae: So far the book has been really interesting. I have only read one chapter so it is realy hard to predict the novel. The first chapter i had found that she is like most teenagers. Every teenager goes through a challenge during their life. I can't really relate to what Josephine is going through, but my father has been away for a long time before, where i hadn't seen him for months. But i still can't relate to it. Maybe Josephine's mother is doing the right thing for her, but there will come a stage where she will face her father. That is mostly all my opinion of the book. cya xo

stacy: well atm i havent read much of the book, i think i have only read the first chapter!!! but ill catch up on the weekend. The reason i have this book is like most of the people here were told it was a great book, well so far ive only read chapter one. II think th at the opening chapter drew me in, so hopefully ill read through to chapter 5 by monday cya! :D

Holly: I choose this book: Looking For Alibrandi because it was well reccomended by a lot of people and was the only good book from the range we had to choose from... It is also an easy book to relate to as we are all teenagers and going through similar phases througout our lives as Josephine experiences in the book. So far i have read up to around chapter 3/4 and has proved to be a good read!!! im reading up to chapter 5 during the weekend and will post questions and comments by monday cya :D

Stacy: So far i have read up to chapter 14 and im really enjoying reading this book! Its a type of book you can get lost in your imagination! With a character like josie you can really relate to such teen crisis such as what you are going to wear to a junction were everybody is going to be there! Well i think i'll leave it there for now, hopefully i'll finish the book really soon!! stace :P

Before The Book

Jodi: I really wanted to read this book when i saw it because i had been told that it's a good read.
The cover doesn't look all the interesting but my friends told me that I would enjoy it.

Renae: I had chosen the book "Looking for Alibrandi" because many people had commented that the novel had been a good read. Although the cover doesn't look that great. The blurb sounded interesting, and also the aurthor of the book "Melina Marchetta" is also a good writer.

Stacy: I chose the book because it had a great, interesting cover and the blurb drew me in!!
